Looking For Mods (also hi I'm off hiatus)
Hi guys. Li-Chi here.
Good news: Coming off hiatus finally. Japan was great.
Bad news: I need to cut back in RP and I'm dropping Iono, only Farnsworth is coming back. Sorry guys!
Big news: We are looking for more mods.
The long story is that I work in construction, and so at times I'm working, and at times I'm not, but for the last year I'd mostly had maintenance jobs; it was a lot like working part time. Thankfully, I work two jobs, the other being as an at home freelance translator. I make ends meet for the most part with the latter and save for the future with the former.
Shortly after the game opened, in mid October my union got me a big job working a lot of overtime. They told me the job would probably last until mid November, when there would be a big reduction in work force. I declared slowatuses and hiatuses and went for it. The project stretched out, and I left it to go on vacation in December, when most of the crew got laid off. They told me to call them when I got back in the country because they might still need me.
And they do. In the end, I survived the lay off.
But I have on-going business as a translator with a few businesses, and if I stop working for them, they'll find someone else, which means I'm working both jobs, and means that I'm presently working anywhere from 60-70 hours a week ... it's tiring and it doesn't leave me a lot of time for RP Land, but the money is too good to pass up. I <3 this game, but I'll still choose what's best for me over what's best for it ... so sue me... but if I get the help I need, it'll do me a lot of good for getting back into the swing of things.
The big ones here, actually, are the Dark Council, and other NPC-player interactions. Of the things this mod staff does, these things that take the most time and are the most daunting. Quite frankly most of the NPCs are fairly straight forward but I'd be happy to offer some coaching.
The other big one is other people to collaborate with for events for the game; this has some overlap with events, of course. Events also tend to entail "time for the news~" shenanigans.
Otherwise it tends to amount to processing of apps, updating of info pages, advertising at App This Please.
To be honest, I realize that the old forum moderator proverb is "if someone asks to be a moderator, they don't deserve to be," but the game is so young that it's hard for me to make that kind of decision right now.
